* Below is a chart of the top college singings (Note: Listed in order
of their 2001-02 Golfweek/Titleist Performance Index Ranking):

Index - For the complete men's list, visit www.golfweek.com/articles/2002/college/mens1/30975.asp * The Massachusetts Golf Association (MGA) named Jon Curran of
Hopkinton the Christopher Cutler Rich MGA Junior player of the year.
Curran's summer included: a third-place showing at the 2002 Massachusetts
Junior Championship and two American Junior Golf Association triumphs
(Kroger Junior Invitational, Greater Hartford Jaycees Junior Classic).
Curran, who plays out of Framingham Country Club, also was low junior at
the Hornblower Invitational (T-11), low junior at the New England
Invitational (T-5) and the third lowest junior at the Ouimet Memorial
(T-17).
* Just a reminder: During the holidays, Golfweek's Junior Golf Report
will be published biweekly. The next issue will be e-mailed Dec. 4.
* The 2002-03 Golfweek/Titleist Performance Index list of ranked
tournaments has been compiled. To be ranked throughout the season a player
must have played in a minimum number of tournaments (two tournaments by
Jan. 1, three by May 1, four by June 30, five by July 29). To be included
in the year-ending rankings a player must have played in six events from
September 2002 to September 2003. * Short Shots: There was an error in an e-mail and flyer that
was distributed to some PJGT members regarding the Wild West Tournaments.
The Siena Golf Club, host of one of the Wild West events, is in Las Vegas,
not Litchfield Park, Ariz., as originally reported. The Wigwam tournament
was also left off of the flyer and e-mail. Please refer to the PJGT
tournament schedule for correct dates and locations. . . . The AJGA
unveiled its redesigned Web site (www.ajga.org) Nov. 18. The redesign
features an expanded left-side navigation menu with new features for
coaches and parents as well as tabs for tournament information, results,
rankings and player information.

RECRUITING CENTRAL
The recruiting process shifts gears this week for college coaches which
may open a window of opportunity for high school golfers hoping to catch a
coach's attention. The eight-day early Letter of Intent signing period
ends Nov. 20, and coaches will begin focusing on the next signing period
which begins in April, 2003 and on recruiting for future years. During the
winter months while intercollegiate golf is between seasons, coaches have
more time to respond to letters, phone calls and other contacts from
prospective student-athletes and parents.

College Golf Guide at www.collegegolf.com/.
