FROM THE CART PATH: CONTROL
KEY FOR PARENTS AND JUNIORS

The golf parent develops in similar ways to that of the player. Most juniors begin their athletic careers with team sports and grow into golf. In the process, they learn the difference between emotion-driven team sports and the more controlled, inhibited golf environment.

So it is with parents. We can yell and scream and jump up and down on the sidelines at a soccer game, but the same behavior at a junior golf tournament will inspire at best a dirty look and, at worst, dismissal from the event.

RECRUITING CENTRAL
Two-weeks ago St. Bonaventure University had to forfeit all of their conference basketball victories due to a recruiting violation involving one of a players. What rule was broken?

Student-athletes transferring to NCAA schools who have attended two-year institutions for two years must earn an Associate of Arts degree at the two-year school to be eligible to compete at an NCAA member institution.

The basketball player was one class short of earning his Associate of Arts degree before enrolling at St. Bonaventure resulting in forfeiture of all games he competed.
