ELLIOTT: TEN COOL
WAYS Summer is right around the corner, no more school, no more books, no
more dirty looks from teachers, just golf, golf and more golf.
When I was growing up, the best part of summer was that you could tee
it up all day. Sometimes, if you were lucky, you could even get in 54
holes.
Most of you probably have a full plate scheduled (lessons, tournaments,
traveling, etc.) for those lazy summer days, but I urge you to take a few
days and do some unique golf activities.

PLAYER TO
WATCH Goins, the No. 1 player on the Western Hills High School golf team,
enjoys playing golf because she ''likes traveling and getting to meet
different people and I like the competition too.''
Goins finished fourth in 2000 and seventh in 2001 at the Kentucky High
School State Championships.
Outside golf, she enjoys playing basketball, using the computer and
hanging out with her friends.
Her favorite PGA Tour player is Phil Mickelson, ''he has a
pretty good short game and he is good guy.'' Goins met Lefty at the 2000
AJGA/Thunderbird International Junior and has followed him since.
If Goins could attend any professional event, she would like to go to
the Masters.
